The Galaxy Z Fold 5 will not deviate significantly from its predecessor in terms of design. However, it is expected to be noticeably slimmer and more compact, reflecting Samsung’s relentless pursuit of sleekness and elegance.

The device’s dimensions measures 154.9 x 129.9 x 6.3mm when unfolded and 154.9 x 67.1 x 13.5mm when closed, making it the thinnest Galaxy Z Fold handset to date. This reduction in thickness is a testament to Samsung’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of engineering and design.

When it comes to display technology, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 features a 6.2-inch outer display and a 7.6-inch inner display. Both screens are expected to incorporate 120Hz refresh rates and OLED panels, consistent with the high standards set by previous models.

The primary 7.6-inch QXGA+ foldable display is now increased by 30% in brightness, achieving a maximum brightness of 1,750 nits. This enhancement should improve visibility while using the phone outdoors on clear, sunny days.

The Fold 5 utilizes the quicker UFS 4.0 storage system and comes in two versions – 256GB and 512GB. Although a 1TB variant exists, it’s only sold through Samsung’s online outlet in the United States.

The innovative Flex Hinge lets the phone shut completely, solving an old problem of dust gathering on the inside display. By adopting this hinge mechanism, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 may enhance its durability, enabling it to withstand more folding and opening cycles throughout its lifespan. This cutting-edge hinge design contributes to the device’s reduced thickness and lighter weight, further enhancing its appeal.

Moving on to the camera capabilities of the Galaxy Z Fold 5, Samsung aims to provide users with an exceptional photography experience. The previous iteration, the Galaxy Z Fold 4, already impressed users by incorporating rear sensors similar to those found on Samsung’s flagship Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S22 Plus models. These cameras include a 50MP main camera, a 12MP ultrawide camera, a 12MP 3x zoom telephoto camera, a 10MP outer selfie camera, and a 4MP under-display inner camera.

While the camera specifications for the Galaxy Z Fold 5 have been a subject of speculation, it appears that Samsung may maintain the same camera setup as its predecessor.
